I always love to see your photographs, especially those of your gardens! You really do a nice job of bringing out the essence of the plants beauty with your lense.
I am also doing some gardening, but very carefully. Any ideas on gadgets that make gardening more accessible? Bending and pulling cause problems. B*B, Ysabeau
If I get right down to the level of the plants, the pulling uses my arm and shoulder muscles rather than my stomach muscles. (I mean when I'm laying right on the ground.) Alternatively, there are some long-handled garden tools you can use while standing (or, as I do, sitting on my scoot-around wagon) Also, when pulling, use a weeding tool to REALLY loosen the soil, so that pulling the weed is like 'buttah'. For the bending, the best solution is raised beds, or gardening in pots on stands. but its not very easily implemented in an established garden. I find thatr when I HAVE ot bend over, if I bend once, ans stay bent over while walking along doing my stuff, its easier on my tummy than repeated bending. I'll do some reasearch and blog about online sites all about gardening for the specially abled :-} (scribbling a note to myself)
And thanks for the comments on my pics, I am honored you enjoy them :-}
I am first of all a curious person who enjoys learning new things, and re-learning old ones particularly ancient crafts. I have been disabled for about 10 years now, each year the arthritis thing impacts my abilities more. I am so grateful for my electric wheelchair as ti means I can go on dates again with my beloved Oscar (we will celebrating our 13th anniversary this summer).
I am also a writer (mostly of book reviews) and a knitwear designer. But mostly I am curious.
